Guru Purnima
Blessed Soul,
Guru Purnima is celebrated every year on the full moon in June/July. Guru (gu = darkness, ru = remover of that darkness (spiritual ignorance). The guru dispels the darkness and brings light and knowledge to the disciple.
Guru Purnima is a great opportunity for disciples and devotees to show their respect and gratitude to the guru. The guru always protects the disciples and bestows wisdom, knowledge, love and light upon them.
Guru Purnima is especially dedicated to the ancient Sage Vyasa, one’s own guru and the divine within oneself (the Self). If the disciple cannot meet the guru in person, then he marks the day with meditation on his guru and by practising his teachings. The disciple can also remember with gratitude any teachers, especially spiritual teachers, but also school and college teachers who made a great impact on his life, imparting knowledge to him.
Swami will be resident at the Shanti Madom Ashram and disciples and devotees are welcome to visit and celebrate Guru Purnima with him at the ashram (programme details below).
Swamiji wishes all devotees all over the world a happy Guru Purnima and bestows blessings of light and love, confidence, happiness, harmony and health.
